The Pole Pole Foundation “POPOF” is a Non Governmental Organisation created by natives and workers in and around the Kahuzi-Biega National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo for the purpose of achieving two goals; the nature conservation and the sustainable development of the local community.
‘Pole pole’ is a Kiswahili word meaning ‘slowly’. It’s our wish to go rather slowly and steadily than hastily toward the achievement of our ultimate goals.
POPOF was created on September 24th, 1992 in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and officially registered in 1997.
