We are very pleased to announce that our founder John Kahekwa has been presented a 2013 Whitley Award by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal at the Royal Geographical Society in London, UK yesterday.
The Whitley Awards are presented annually by Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN) to outstanding grassroots leaders in nature conservation across the world. John is one of the eight winners of this award.
This award is also called “Green Oscars” and it is a great encouragement for all of our local Congolese staff who have been pursuing POPOF’s objective through the times of difficulty. And we are truly grateful to all the great people around the world who have been supporting us in many ways.
We will keep on moving forward for the better future of the local communities and the Eastern Lowland Gorilla.
